How do designers find their first job? : Kundan Simkhada

In order to look for jobs as an aspiring graphic designer you could use advanced websites to get in contact such as  https://www.builtinnyc.com/. One of the very jobs I found by filter searching with experience as an Entry level graphic designer includes Associate Graphic Designer for the Company Applied systems. This company requires a foundational understanding of graphic design across digital, print, and motion design, with a focus on executing projects under the guidance of senior team members. The pay is around the ranges of $50K - $65K annually and as a entry level this is decent pay, some of the skills needed for the job also includes Proficiency in the entire Microsoft Suite of products including Excel and PowerPoint, A keen interest in learning and developing aesthetic skills within established brand guidelines, Understanding of AI technologies and their practical application to improve efficiency. One of the reasons I picked this company as a really good start is it provides benefits such as Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage as well as Vacation days and bonus days for birthdays. It may also require bachelors or not if already had the experience for example from a CTE of graphic design. Another Job I found in the same website includes Graphic Designer for the company Waterfall. The requirements for this job includes extensive art portfolio, creative problem-solving skills, out-of-the-box creative thinking, collaborative mindset. The pay ranges from $45k - $90k Annually which would seem like a very good opportunity for Entry level designers depending on their level. Another job I found through indeed was Junior Designer for the company Goodwin Procter LLP. The requirements include Ability to work through all stages of design from start to finish with impeccable attention to detail, Solid foundation in core design principles (ex: typography, color, layout, hierarchy); knowledge of print production and digital design best practices, Strong time management and multitasking abilities and Problem-solving aptitude and proactive approach. The pay ranges from $60,000 - $75,000 annually with benefits such as healthcare and retirement plans. The similarity between the jobs found, aside the experience needed in certain design fields, were the good environment for future aspiring graphic designers. As for me in order to qualify I would need more experience in the design field and improve creativity in order to even qualify for Associate Graphic Designer or Graphic designer for Waterfall Company.
