Editorial Design

Based on the video, the editorial design components that are important involve the grid system. The grid creates structure on a page the same way frame of a building allows the rest of it to be kept balanced. Alongside the consistency of elements on each page when creating a brochure for example, you should aim for the reader to be able to figure out the hierarchy quickly and not have to think about it for a longer period of time.  Editorial design feels limited but it gets the idea across through containing consistent elements that help give hierarchy to the design, which is most effective in things like magazines and comic books in order to get the idea across effectively for the people. 

The article that contains poster series made by different designers. The Otl Aicher's Isny by dn&co showcasing his experience in his hometown with his form of art. The arts were very simple and nice coming from stamp like design, although it is little simple it gets the idea across by giving the readers or audience a time to carefully analyze the design that uses good uses of shades and it is as if the grid system was implemented with how balanced the elements were. The type is really small and gives more view to the design itself making it visually appealing. This Is Me, Full Stop by Here Design is a really simple design compared to The Otl Aicher's Isny by dn&co. The background is plain black which gives more focus to the white color type and dot in the page at the start. Moving from that design to later pages , the dots are implemented in a pattern like stance with type in the right, the main thing I noticed is the design itself is at the right page most of the time with the left being the typography. I love this design because it gets the reader to think about the experience with how simple the design is. My favorite one was Circular 19 by Pentagram because the use of color was really nice and typography design is something that I find really appealing. The use of font was really nice and brings the audience in as well as the color in the pages where it is mostly type rather than design, changing the color of one type to white while keeping the others black gets the audience going making them more interested and I personally like this design not only because of the simplicity but because I resonate with type.
