Refining Logo Comps Kundan Simkhada

 


This is my favorite logo in different fonts, the logo under the original was used with the font Khmer MN Bold, I felt this font would show really well into a sports band type of thing. The one to the left was the font Schnebel sans and the logo under the font Khmer MN Bold is the font Optima and the one under optima font is 210 크래커 and the last one is the font Reross Quadratic. The fonts I picked were all depending on how aesthetic it looks to a sports brand especially the last one which is thinnish but bold would be the type to see in popular brands so I felt it fits really well.



This work is taken from the previous with the font changed into now added colors to add more touch to it, I made the texts smaller to fit because you can tell colors apart and the one with shadows I felt was really good because it shows the shades of it and reflecting the letter was a decent idea that could fit into my brand value of simple but good, and the logo with mix of orange and blue and purple alongside a good shade was probably one of the good ones and the 2nd and last one were plain and simple nothing too much.

This one Is taken from the color and I made the text bigger to show the spacing where In first one I moved the Z and N a little farther making me also in need to move both I and X and the 2 Es I made smaller, for the orange logo you can see the difference between first and second with color and spacing where I spaced out the letters to properly show the shades. The one under first one is the same just moved to the left and the one under it is spaced right once or twice and the Es were made bigger with the last one also being spaced to the right.

Social Justice Topic

Some of the topics that made me interested to speak out for is Racial Discrimination in Housings and inequalities, Financial Inequality as well as Health Care access.  The one that interests me alot as of right now would be Housing inequalities because here in New York as people who live in an economy where price is always going up and it is getting more difficult by the day to afford rent without it taking half your income, it becomes hard to live with its economy. In the designing for social justice in order to improve housing inequalities with racism also being a matter in this case, I would be able to bring the events of people of low income getting taken advantage. Editorial Design

Based on the video, the editorial design components that are important involve the grid system. The grid creates structure on a page the same way frame of a building allows the rest of it to be kept balanced. Alongside the consistency of elements on each page when creating a brochure for example, you should aim for the reader to be able to figure out the hierarchy quickly and not have to think about it for a longer period of time.  Editorial design feels limited but it gets the idea across through containing consistent elements that help give hierarchy to the design, which is most effective in things like magazines and comic books in order to get the idea across effectively for the people.  The article that contains poster series made by different designers.
