Social Justice Research

The one thing I had the most connection to speak out for is Housing Inequalities. As the years go there has been many families struggling to pay rent let alone buy a house because of the fact that rent has increased to such an extent that more than half the income in paycheck is reduced alone to pay rent leaving struggles for low income families. Alongside the fact that  there is no state or county where a renter working full-time at minimum wage can afford a two-bedroom apartment, as well as  6.8 million more affordable housing units are needed for extremely low income families. This matters because e ach year the shortage gets worse, and that’s why people are homeless in our country and why families struggle to pay for groceries and visits to their doctor. I was able to deep further into this research from the source   https://nlihc.org/explore-issues/why-we-care/problem . For hundreds of thousands of people living in NYC, the apartments are ones that are most affo...

Social Justice Topic

Some of the topics that made me interested to speak out for is Racial Discrimination in Housings and inequalities, Financial Inequality as well as Health Care access.  The one that interests me alot as of right now would be Housing inequalities because here in New York as people who live in an economy where price is always going up and it is getting more difficult by the day to afford rent without it taking half your income, it becomes hard to live with its economy. In the designing for social justice in order to improve housing inequalities with racism also being a matter in this case, I would be able to bring the events of people of low income getting taken advantage. Not only is this the case but the fact that the dream of affording an house is getting difficult by the year which I find astonishing and there is barely any programs nor actions that gets the idea to help people of low income and people facing discrimination in housing related fields. It is most especially hard for...

Editorial Design

Based on the video, the editorial design components that are important involve the grid system. The grid creates structure on a page the same way frame of a building allows the rest of it to be kept balanced. Alongside the consistency of elements on each page when creating a brochure for example, you should aim for the reader to be able to figure out the hierarchy quickly and not have to think about it for a longer period of time.  Editorial design feels limited but it gets the idea across through containing consistent elements that help give hierarchy to the design, which is most effective in things like magazines and comic books in order to get the idea across effectively for the people.  The article that contains poster series made by different designers. The  Otl Aicher's Isny by dn&co  showcasing his experience in his hometown with his form of art. The arts were very simple and nice coming from stamp like design, although it is little simple it gets the idea...

Communication Design

Communication Design uses various formats such as verbal, written, visuals and interactive. Visual involves logos, icons, infographics, illustration and photography. Written involves typography with how the font is portrayed in the overreaching context of an article. Interactive involves the advancing of UI ( user interfaces ), UX (user experiences) in apps and websites and Verbal involving speeches, and podcasts.  The websites we visit in a daily such as articles found in New York Times for example, they all have a purpose and meaning behind their choice of fonts and size of the font in other words Type Hierarchy. This is really important because by choosing carefully how you want your fonts in a design to show, it helps to bring more people that deeply resonate with the type hierarchy such as using Times New Roman Calibri in order to make it easier for people who have trouble reading properly. Editorial design fits into formats of Communication Design involving interactive ...

Motion Graphics Final Review

Image
Working on Motion Graphic was a fun experience having to deal with understanding keyframes and deal with animations such as bending the trees in order to give it the vibe of a windy day in a rain. My main theme was a rainy day and a dog that is scared of lightning trying to just run away. I thought it was a cool idea to do and after effects was really fun to learn I learned lot of things such as the CC rainfall effect which fit really well with my background that I created in adobe after effects and imported into Adobe After Effects. The gif of the animation was unable to load because of the file export limit but I felt that working on this animation of the dog slowly moving and moving back when lightning hits to show his fear and him running away really fast fit really well and it was really nice to work on this and improve from my draft because my draft was very funky. This draft was very plain and I feel that I improved my design alot with the final above, the city like background a...
